Football Season?

Oh my Maddy . . . the title should say it all!  Today started out sweet.  It was water day at school so Maddy got to wear one of her cute bathing suits.  We all took Maddy to school and Matt, Landon and me went to where else-Starbucks.  I went over to Publix to get a salad for my lunch later.  I am addicted to this salad with fruit they have there!  Once home Landon immediately needed a nap.  So, we left to go get Madelynn a little later . . . HERE IT GOES . . . I walk into the class room and she is on the floor putting her shoes one.  The class was lined up going out the back door to the playground.  Miss Lucie was letting them head out one by one in a nice orderly fashion.  Maddy sees me and states, "NO mommy I don't want to go home yet I want to go out and play with my friends on the playground."  Somewhere during this rudeness she has gotten up and then she proceeds to sprint as fast as a 3-year old can spring out the back door.  Mind you she passes everyone in line and at the doorway she is so set on getting out that door she takes out one of her sweet little classmates like it's a football game!  The girl falls to the ground and Maddy does not even realize what she has done she just bee-lines it to the swings like these super force magnets my dad insists on buying over the internet that are just, "so cool" - DORK! they attract a piece of metal like 100 yards away.  So, before she realizes it I am also out the door grabbing her from the swing, placing her on the bench and have a "talk" with her.  I really wanted to spank her little butt and put her in her room but she goes to a church school so God was watching for sure!  I was patient and firm and did all of the mommy things I am supposed to do and she cried all the way to the car.  Once we got to the car I saw the Sawyers. (They have 2 kids ages 3 and 2 but wait a little over a week ago they decided to pop out twins!---ahhhh, they are truly super human and not to mention Sarah looked awesome today like she didn't pop out 2 babies a week or so ago!)  Sarah and Hank came over.  I was talking with them about what had happened and as Sarah and I continued to talk sweet hubby Hank (the freckle lover :)) saved the day and what was left of my sanity.  Hank went to her door opened it and got her out and gave her a big daddy hug the put her in her car seat and buckled her up.  She was back to being a sweet girl after that.  She just needed a hug I guess and at that point I was kinda out of hugs!  Needless to say we came home and she took a long nap!  We were talking about it at dinner and I guess we had overviewed it long enough because she then said, "Daddy would you just let me eat my food."  That was that and life moved on, that begs the question . . . Is she 3 or 16?  I bet we will hear that statement many times before she is out of the house . . . I left for the gym shortly after and now I am here with you typing.  Tomorrow I head to Tallahassee for the night with my soccer team.  I am hoping to see a few old friends in the short period of time I will be there.  Until next time . . .

Swim Lessons=Not so good

Today has been a normal day.  Maddy went to her "wear me out summer fun thing" and Landon ran around to Starbucks and Publix where I proudly can say I saw 3 whole people that I KNEW!  Besides the Starbucks barista who asked if I wanted my usual.  One of those 3 is moving away, of course!  Everyone is moving away from here but me.  It's a Seminole death trap.  I guess they figure if you are forced to stay here long enough you will fold to the blue and orange.  The fact of the matter is the more I stay here the more I hate the Stinkin' Gators!  They make me hate them with little reminders everyday-okay thats for another blog.  So I saw 3 people I knew.  Tamara was from Maddys old play group and is moving to North Carolina.  The other 2 women were having coffee together and they have kids who were in Maddys class last year.  I walked over to Publix with Tamara just to talk a little more and went back to Starbucks where the other 2 mommys sat having adult conversation.  Of course I would have loved to pull up a barstool and talk for hours but Landon man had other ideas-like napping.  Which that idea is completely gone now because his afternoon nap was only 45 minutes-it's sad I know!  Maddy got up from her nap to be met by Miss Amanda an FIU swimmer for her first swim lesson.  That didn't go as planned.  I am competitive, not just a little competitive A LOT competitive.  So to see my child freak out during a coaching session or swim lessons breaks my heart slowly and painfully.  I mean she was not bad bad and she did a few things but she would not float on her back with assistance or blow bubbles in the water.  I am sure a lot(Matt just came home with an iced coffee for me-all is right in the world now) of it had to do with just getting up and thrown into swimming and she was hungry and during the first 10 minutes she ran inside because she had to go pee pee and it was cold in the water and there were rain drips and I could go on.  I don't like excuses so I just hope it was a one time deal and she will be a perfect little swimmer next time . . . fingers and toes crossed everyone!

Grandma called and Maddy asked hat Grandma said about swim lessons.  I told Maddy that Grandma was very disappointed that she would not float on her back or blow bubbles (Grandma never said this because Maddy is just perfect in Grandmas eyes).  Maddy stated, "I want Grandma to be happy again!" SO I told Maddy that if she was a good swimmer next time Grandma would be so happy!

My coffee is gone, I dropped some on my white shirt and I guess I need to go do something motherly . . . I just keep remembering that in a few hours I will be at the gym for some alone time and torture.  It's not a workout (to me) if it doesn't hurt!

Note to self: blog about "My body is eating my fat one day."  Thats how I feel right now.

Tuesday July 22nd

Today was a good day.  Landon did not fall out of his stroller onto the parking lot and I did not have to rush him to the hospital because of it, he does still have a bruise on his face, greyish front teeth (from something else, just not sure what really) and a rash on his rear but for the most part he did not do all of his own stunts today!  Maddy did her summertime fun and the reality is it should really be called, "Bring your kids here so we can wear them out for you and they will take LONG naps once they get home but be grumpy all the way there."  Thank you God for those wonderful people!  We did get some "Rain Drips" which is what I refer to as a Madelynnism . . . not drops, yes drips.  We have been working on converting the office/guest room into an office/guest room/playroom.  We have the day bed set up and I must say after the trip to Ikea in Orlando soon I think this idea is going to work.  I guess this is my way of not running from the toys but giving them a real place in our home to grow without me going crazy.  People say it all the time, kids require a lot of "things" and it's more then true.  I have little patches of toys everywhere and I just need to embrace the toys and make it work for us.  It won't last forever and one day I may even miss the little people scattered all about and the mooing barn and singing birthday cake.  Maddy asked me to play soccer with her today and that ALWAYS makes me smile, a soccer girl maybe?  *please, please, please* As cool as it is that I am blogging I must go to bed because who knows when L-man will decide he needs to be awake to eat his 3 jars of baby food for breakfast.  That kid is crazy and I think he gets it from his daddy!

Am I cool now?

I have a myspace, a facebook, even use snapfish but where do I put all of the cool things into words, my words?  Well, now folks here you have it The Wingate Story.  I have missed so much because Madelynn is already 3 and Landon 8 months but I am sure what is to come will amaze the pants off all of you!
